Award-winning artist killed in tragic Los Angeles accident

Getting into a motor vehicle accident can be a terrifying, painful experience. And it is one that can happen to anyone, whether it is the elderly driver heading out to the grocery store, the young mother dropping her child off at day care or the young teen who just got his driver's license. These crashes can happen for a number of reasons and result in a variety of injuries.

The unfortunate fact is that no matter how safe our vehicles may be and no matter how cautious we are behind the wheel, it just takes one mistake or bad decision from another motorist to cause a crash. After any accident, it can be crucial to figure out what happened and who or what may be responsible for the crash. This can be especially important in fatal car accidents.

Residents across California are likely aware of the recent and tragic car accident that took the life of a Grammy-winning art director. Ian Cuttler Sala was just 43 when he was involved in a fatal accident. Investigations are still underway, but early reports suggest that Sala was a passenger in a speeding vehicle when he was killed.

Authorities report that the driver of the vehicle was Sami Hayek, who is the brother of famous actress Salma Hayek. They believe that the two men were in the car when Hayek lost control and crashed into an oncoming vehicle. They do not believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, but they do have reason to believe that the speed at which their vehicle was traveling may have contributed to the accident.

Fatal accidents like this one happen far too often to people across California, and many of them are caused by a negligent or reckless person. Drivers who take chances behind the wheel without considering the consequences of their actions put every other person on the road in danger.

Losing a loved one in any fatal accident can be devastating, whether it was a freak accident or one caused by a negligent or dangerous party. However, speaking with an attorney to explore legal options for holding parties accountable can be a good way for family members to take action, pursue compensation and try to regain a sense of justice.
