Actor Paul Walker and friend killed in tragic Los Angeles crash

People all over the country were devastated to learn of the recent and tragic accident that took the lives of actor Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas. Both were known car enthusiasts and fans likely know that Walker starred in the "Fast & Furious" movie franchise. The men were attending a charity event in Los Angeles and decided to take a ride in a Porsche owned by Rodas during a break. Reports indicate that the men were both killed when the car hit a light pole and tree.

The devastating crash is still being investigated, but sources report that authorities believe that speed was a factor in fatal car accident. However, it was specified that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department does not have reason to suspect the two were involved in any sort of street racing, as had been reported earlier. This catastrophe is a grim reminder that fatal crashes can happen to anyone in the blink of an eye, devastating the lives of their loved ones.

Most people involved in a fatal car accident do not have the kind of driving training that these two men had, which means that it is likely easier for the average driver to lose control of a car if he or she is speeding or driving aggressively. When any driver loses control of a car for whatever reason, the vehicle can smash into objects, skid across lanes of oncoming traffic and put the lives of everyone on the road in danger, including the people inside the out-of-control vehicle. In many cases, the accident is the result of a reckless or negligent driver.

Every victim of a fatal car accident leaves behind friends and families who struggle with the loss. The anguish that parents, spouses and children can experience can be very difficult to cope with. However, there are ways to work through this process with emotional, financial and legal support.
