A husband was seriously injured and a wife lost her life in a fatal accident that occurred on Dec. 30, 2016 in Santa Clarita, California. The accident, which occurred at approximately 8:39 a.m., at the intersection of Rye Canyon Road and Kelly Johnson Parkway nearby the area Walmart, also resulted in minor to moderately severe injuries for the other car’s occupants as well.
The county sheriff’s traffic incident report documents how the fatal car crash is alleged to have occurred based on witness statements and on-the-scene investigation. In it, it alludes to the driver of a large pickup truck having perhaps t-boned the driver’s side of the husband and wife pair’s smaller compact car after it improperly entered traffic.
The descendant, a 29-year-old female, was thought to have died on the scene. She has yet to be identified publicly by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office pending notification of her injured spouse. He is now listed as being in stable condition at an area hospital.
All parties involved have been said to be cooperative and there is no preliminary evidence that suggests alcohol is to blame for the fatal accident either. The accident, however, has been turned over to the district attorney’s office to make a final decision as to whether to move forward in filing any criminal charges in this case.
The incidence rate of fatal motor vehicle accidents in the Los Angeles area have unfortunately been on the rise recently.
